Mission Statement

The Bonney Lake Municipal Court is an independent and impartial branch of government. Our objectives include promoting respect for the law, society and individual rights. We strive to provide this community and its visitors with timely access to the Court system and treat all appearing before the Court with dignity and respect in the resolution of their matter (s).

Post COVID we have implemented new ways to provide greater access to the Court system by adding video courts services and emailing of court documents for individuals who may face challenges in appearing in Court, in person.

The court is proud to serve the citizens of Bonney Lake, South Prairie, Eatonville and Sumner.  

Blake Case Refund Information

If you have a Blake-impacted criminal case that has been vacated, you can apply for a refund of fines paid on the case.  Contact the Washington state Blake Refund Bureau to apply for your refund.  

The following procedures have been implemented to support public safety. 

Please DO NOT appear at the courthouse if you are experiencing signs of illness.  Any person exhibiting signs of illness contact your attorney if represented for further direction; if not represented, contact the court.  Social distancing measures are still being implemented.

The Court is open Monday through Thursday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM and Friday from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM

The Presiding Judge is Joanna J Daniels!

Judge Daniels brings over 25 years of trial experience to the bench.  Judge Daniels received her Juris Doctorate from Thomas Jefferson School of Law.  Prior to her appointment Judge Daniels was in private practice; in addition, she has served as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for Pierce County and Riverside County and has handled many cases as Court Appointed Counsel.  Since appointment to Bonney Lake, Judge Daniels has sought to streamline the court process and reach out to the community.  Bonney Lake's Community Court program allows the court to help the community by providing services to those in need.  Judge Joanna Daniels is honored to serve the community of Bonney Lake and is be a great asset to our city and community.

The Bonney Lake Municipal Court provides court services for Bonney Lake, Eatonville, South Prairie and Sumner. The municipal court is dedicated to serving the community by being accessible to all individuals, for the fair, impartial and efficient administration of justice.

The municipal court is a court of limited jurisdiction hearing the following cases:

• Criminal and criminal non-traffic misdemeanors and gross misdemeanors.
• Traffic and non- traffic infractions.
