Overview
The Executive Department includes the Offices of the Mayor, City Administrator, Prosecuting Attorney, Special Events, and Special Projects.
The City Administrator is responsible to the Mayor for the general coordination and supervision of the activities of the various City departments and offices per BLMC 2.08.030(D).

Meet the City Administrator
John Vodopich has been with the City since 2007 and was appointed City Administrator in June, 2018. John has more than 30 years of City and County government experience in the State of Washington. He has a Bachelor's degree in Urban and Regional Planning and an Extended Minor in Cartography from Western Washington University.
John joined the City in August 2007 as the Community Development Director. In July 2016, the Community Development and Public Works Departments were reorganized into the Public Services Department and Vodopich was named Director of the newly formed department.
John is certified though the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP). He currently serves on the Association of Washington Cities (AWC) Education Advisory Committee. He also served on the Washington State Transportation Improvement Board (TIB) from 2007 - 2016. Throughout his career, John has been active professionally in the American Planning Association (APA); the International City/County Management Association (ICMA); the Planning Association of Washington (PAW); the Washington City Planning Directors Association (WCPDA); and the Washington State Association of County and Regional Planning Directors (WSACRPD).
