The notation 'Interim Copy' indicates that the attached file is an interim copy of the Ordinance, Resolution or Interlocal Agreement, presented as it was adopted by the City Council. A scanned copy of the final document will be made available as soon as all required signatures and publications are completed.

Ordinances are codified into the Bonney Lake Municipal Code (BLMC), which is available to browse and search online. The online BLMC is updated every few months; recently adopted ordinances that have not yet been incorporated into the online BLMC are listed below for easy retrieval

Proclamations

A proclamation is an official document issued by the Mayor to bring recognition, awareness, or appreciation to an issue, cause, milestone, or noteworthy event that is relevant and important to Bonney Lake. Proclamations are strictly honorary and not legally binding.

Ordinances

Ordinances are legislative acts or local laws, prescribing general, uniform, and permanent rules of conduct, relating to the corporate affairs of the city. Ordinances are the most permanent and binding form of council action and may be amended or repealed only by adoption of a subsequent ordinance as per: BLMC 2.04.740.

Ordinances under consideration by the City Council are assigned a draft ordinance number and may be found in the agenda packets for meetings and workshops at which the Council plans to discuss them. Interlocal Agreements
The purpose of the Interlocal Cooperation Act (RCW 39.34) is "to permit local governmental units to make the most efficient use of their powers by enabling them to cooperate with other localities on a basis of mutual advantage and thereby to provide services and facilities in a manner and pursuant to forms of governmental organization that will accord best with geographic, economic, population and other factors influencing the needs and development of local communities." How to request a proclamation

  • A proclamation may be requested using the Proclamation Request Form. Please include your contact information where you can be reached for possible questions or clarification regarding the information you have provided.
  • Please submit your request a minimum of three weeks before it is needed to allow adequate time to considered and prepared.
  • In order to better determine whether a request can be fulfilled, please provide a draft of the proclamation and/or supporting information. The draft language should contain enough factual information to make at least four points. Draft language may be edited or revised without notice at the discretion of the Mayor.
  • If a proclamation has been issued in the past, a new request still needs to be requested each year.
