The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recently began regulating a group of chemicals known as per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, or PFAS, in drinking water. Bonney Lake, like many other communities in Washington and across the nation, is monitoring this emerging containment.
In June 2024, the City began a new program to test PFAS in drinking water. The City’s drinking water fully complies with all federal and state regulations governing safe levels of PFAS in drinking water. We will provide a quarterly update about PFAS sampling results to enable drinking water customers to stay informed.
