Councilmember James Rackley Retires

Councilmember James RackleyBonney Lake City Councilmember James Rackley tendered his resignation from office on June 5, effective immediately, because of ongoing health issues.

Rackley was first elected to office in 2000, and has served on council for nearly 20 years.

“On behalf of the Bonney Lake City Council, we extend our support to Jim and his family. We are grateful for his 20 years of service to council and the community. Jim has played an instrumental role in how Bonney Lake has transformed over the years, and has always represented Bonney Lake with great pride,” says Mayor Neil Johnson.

The public is invited to recognize Rackley for his service at the City Council meeting on Tuesday, June 11, 6 p.m., in the Justice & Municipal Center Council Chambers.

Per the City’s code, the City Council will appoint an interim council member to fill the remainder of Rackley’s term through December 2019. Council Position No. 4 is up for election on the November 5, 2019 ballot. Information on the procedure and deadline for applying will be posted on the City’s website, www.cobl.us, once finalized.
