City of Bonney Lake

We're excited to announce that the Bonney Lake Arts Commission will reconvene in March 2025. We are currently recruiting at least five new members, including a high school student. If you are passionate about the arts - whether your interests are in music, painting, dance, sculpture, or any creative field - please consider applying. Past projects led by the commission include the city hall art gallery, painted bird artwork along SR 410, holiday gingerbread contest, and painted trash receptacles in the parks. It’s a unique way to get involved and impact arts in the community.

About the Commission

The Arts Commission was established in 2014 to advise the Mayor and City Council on matters of the arts and community culture of Bonney Lake; to provide community leadership and assistance in advocating for, developing and promoting the arts in Bonney Lake; and to improve the quality of life and enhance the aesthetic environment of Bonney Lake through art.

The Arts Commission is comprised of volunteer members appointed by the Mayor. Except for the youth representative, commissioners will serve on 3-year terms. The youth representative is appointed to a one-year term.

 

Regular Meeting Schedule

Location: Meetings take place at the Bonney Lake Justice & Municipal Center, 9002 Main ST E, Bonney Lake, WA 98391

2025 Meeting Dates: The Arts Commission will meet quarterly. According to the by-laws, meetings take place on the third Wednesday at 6 p.m. The tentative date of the first meeting is Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at the Bonney Lake Justice & Municipal Center. The meeting dates for the remainder of the year are tentatively June 18, September 17, and a special meeting on November 19 (instead of December). These dates will be confirmed at the first official commission meeting.
